About Our Pastor

Rev. Larry Rouse has been involved in church his entire life. At the age of 16, he decided to turn his life over to God and immerse himself into positions of the church. At the age of 20, he was voted in as the young adult Sunday school teacher at his church. He served in this role for five years until he took on a new position as church deacon. Rouse held that role until one late afternoon day he felt a pull on his heart to go down to a local river levee, it was there when he heard the voice of God. Pastor Larry recalls this experience: "I had a river levee experience with God. I answered God's call for me into his ministry of preaching one late afternoon while walking along a river levee, and have been faithfully serving him since." Rouse has been a pastor for 48 years and serving at Scott City First for 21 years.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the Scott City First – Family & Youth Worship Center website. I am excited that you’re here. On behalf of our entire church family we want you to know that we are dedicated to meeting the needs of people wherever they are in life.

You will find a variety of ministries here at Scott City First, all developed to aid you in your quest for spiritual growth and wholeness. We have classes and activities for every age group from the youngest baby to the “young at heart”.

Feel free to inquire about and investigate these ministries in order to find out what God is doing through this body of believers. While we have worked hard to give you a glimpse of our ministry, the best way to discover the heart of a church family is by spending time with its people. Once you do this, we’re convinced that you will find everything that you’re looking for and much, much more. God is doing some very exciting things in the hearts and lives of the people who call Scott City First their church home.
